A properly fitted helmet should be snug all the way around your head. It should not move or leave any excess space between the shell and your skull—but it also shouldn’t be so tight that you feel pressure or pain points.
You can perform a “shake test” to check your Sweet Protection helmet’s fit:
- Put the helmet on and shake your head. If the helmet moves independently of your head, it’s too big.
- Use your hand to move the helmet left and right, up and down. Your scalp should move with the helmet, without the shell shifting on its own.
- Buckle the chin strap, making sure it’s snug and fastened correctly. The strap won’t alter the fit—it simply keeps the helmet securely on your head.
The Sweet Protection helmets can be adjusted to fit your head perfectly either by adjusting with Occigrip solution or with the fitpads that comes with the helmet.
